The California Surf Museum serves as an international repository and resource center on the lifestyle sport of surfing through capturing, preserving, and chronicling its art, culture and heritage for the education and enjoyment of future generations.

A very tight, tree-lined layout. Streams and marshes come into play on 14 holes. The facilities include a lighted driving range and plenty of short-game practice areas. There is on-site club repair, daily golf schools and specialty golf clinics, as well as individual instruction by PGA and LPGA professionals. Collared shirts required and soft pikes are suggested but not yet mandatory. Groups may go out in fivesomes, so pace of play can be slow at times.

Perhaps Oceanside's most memorable landmark, the pier was first built in the late 1890's by Melchoir Pieper using lumber that had been salvaged from the wharf at Wisconsin Street after it had been destroyed in a storm. Since then the pier has been through five iterations, most recently having been rebuilt in 1987. Today the Oceanside pier is a popular attraction for both locals and visitors, offering fishing, a great view of the Pacific ocean, and a little Oceanside history.

The oldest restaurant in Oceanside, The 101 Cafe began its life as a small 20-seat diner in 1928, opened by the Ekegren family. It was just the small dining room where the counters are now. As today, the restaurant was noted for its breakfast, which is still served all day. The Cafe was named for the old highway which it fronted Highway 101. The Greyhound bus stopped right in front until the 1940's when a bus station was located downtown.
