Historic Oceanside Pier at Oceanside Beach is one of the longest wooden piers on the West Coast, spanning 1,942 feet in length. Opened in 1987 as the city's sixth pier to be built (and fifth on this spot), it is located on Third Street. Fishing anyone? Grab your fishing poles and head to the pier for a fun and relaxing time while enjoying the ocean breezes and surfers catching waves down below.
California Surf Museum
Surfers throughout the world seek out the California Surf Museum to share their adventures in surfing. Some want to share their stories of surfing in extreme conditions like the Arctic while others want to send pieces of history to be displayed at the Museum. Over the years, the California Surf Museum has acquired an impressive collection that will take you on a journey through the history of surfing, which has made California beaches famous.
Mission San Luis Rey
The largest of all the 21 California missions, it is home to a community of Franciscan Friars and is open daily to the public in the Franciscan tradition of heritage and hospitality. Facilities include a Retreat Center with day and overnight programs for spiritual renewal, multi-function meeting spaces, a Cemetery open to all people, Mission Gift Shop, Historic Church and interpretive Museum. Mission San Luis Rey hold various community fundraising events throughout the year to support the preservation of the Mission.

Leo Carrillo Ranch Historic Park
Once part of the original 2,538 acre working rancho and vacation retreat of Leo Carrillo (who acted in almost 100 films from 1927 to 1950 and co-starred in the TV series The Cisco Kid,) this historic ranch is an extraordinary educational and recreational resource.
The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch
Noted for being one of the most beloved spring traditions in the area, the ranch opens annually in March for six to eight weeks showcasing the Giant Tecolote Ranunculus.
The Museum of Making Music
The Museum of Making Music presents visitors with an interactive journey through a century of musical instrument innovations that helped shape American popular music from the 1890s to the present day. It includes over 500 vintage instruments on display, hundreds of audio and video examples at the push of a button and an interactive area where visitors can play on a variety of hands-on instruments. The Museum also presents a number of special events and educational outreach activities.
