Walk the Pier

Location: 0.4 miles, on South Pacific Street

Take a leisurely stroll on the historical Oceanside Pier, one of the longest wooden piers on the west coast. Watch the surfers riding the waves or fisherman reeling in a fresh catch. At the end of the pier enjoy dinner at Ruby’s Diner or take a seat at the amphitheater which hosts musical and cultural performances throughout the year.

Whale & Dolphin Tours

Location: 1.1 miles, on Harbor Drive

Operating from Oceanside Harbor, schedule a Whale & Dolphin tour on a 50ft luxury catamaran for your family or plan a romantic afternoon out at sea. Guided by a certified naturalist, your captain will try to get an up close and personal encounter with the Gray Whales that migrate past Oceanside on their way to Baja for breeding.

Farmers Market

Location: .5 Miles, on South Pacific Street and Pier View Way

Every Thursday from 9:00am to 1:00pm Oceanside holds their weekly Farmers Market on the corner of Pier View Way and Coast Highway near the Civic Center. Shop fresh, local produce and flowers along with dozens of craft booths while you stroll through the market, and don’t miss the chance to try the hot food booths!

Fishing

Location: 0.4 miles, on South Pacific Street

Enjoy fishing from Oceanside Pier. There are no permits required to fish from the pier, plus there’s easy access to a snack bar, and a bait and tackle shop.  Oceanside Pier is best known for its halibut and sea bass fishing, but fishermen have also caught the occasional yellowtail. If you’re looking to up your fishing game try scheduling a sport fishing boat from Oceanside Harbor to try your hand at some deep sea fishing.

Location: 1.3 miles, South Pacific Street

Grab a fire pit near Oceanside Harbor, but get there early as these tend to get taken quickly, especially during the summer months. Make a day of it at the beach. Gather your family and friends around the fire and make smores, or get cozy while the sun sets. This is a fun free activity the whole family will enjoy.

Eat

Location: 1.1 miles, on South Pacific Drive

There are a lot of great restaurants within Oceanside Harbor and short walk from Southern California Beach Club. Try Joes Crab Shack, Rockin’ Baja Lobster, or Harbor Fish & Chips, just to name a few! Indulge your inner foodie by trying the many seafood restaurants in the area.
