Great to be back here!

the sliding glass door that goes to the patio does not lock. not a good safety feature. the cable picture on the tv was usually scrambling on most channels. it would be really nice if the bed was a king, instead of a queen.
drinking coffee in the morning, watching the beach and the surfers and all the characters walking up and down the strand. and watching the sunsets each night,

Beings that you were a sister hotel to The Carlsbad Village Inn, we were expecting your property to semi mirror that of Carlsbad. Having the unhoused in our view, just below the 4th floor, did not allow us to enjoy the ocean view as a family. Much less having to walk our family down to the beach through the unhoused was not comforting. Also, having the unhoused sitting outside our front door, at all hours of the day, made it very uncomfortable for myself to allow my young adult children to enjoy themselves. The room accommodated our family of 5 for sleeping but only having one full bath was not efficient. Also, the tub did not drain properly, however, it was fixed in a timely manner. Thank You! The unavailability for additional parking as a guest of your property, made it difficult for our son who drove himself, to find parking reasonably close. We appreciate you accommodating us as there was no vacancy in Carlsbad and maybe someday we can try again. Thank you.

2025We are owners and always enjoy our beachfront unit. We do like the taller chairs on the patio so we can see over the rail. The only thing I would really love is a taller toilet. The bathroom is so tiny it's too bad they can't move the wall forward and I'd be happy with one sink so I had room to do things in the bathroom I needed to do. Otherwise staff is great they check in with us they are constantly cleaning the views are amazing. Very happy with our unit here at Southern California beach club.

I wanted one between happy face and 🙁 We always love coming here but having the small bed in the bedroom is very difficult for us to sleep in. You truly need a king size bed in the one bedroom units. Side nightstands are not the important thing. It's important to have enough space to sleep for all sizes of people. The sliding door does not lock so husband was worried about security. Other than that we have had an absolutely wonderful stay loving sitting on the balcony and watching all the action and waves and all the people. The beautiful sunsets too. As I said as owners we always enjoy our week at SOBC. All of the staff is very friendly and helpful. For that reason I picked the happy face. Sometimes we go home and sleep so we can have a better night sleep than in the small bed. Bathroom is very tight also. I wondered if it would be better to have a curtain rather than the glass wall because on one side you've got the toilet paper roll on your shoulder and the other side the glass wall to the shower while you're trying to spread your legs haha. Anyway overall we really enjoy coming here every year

The fire alarm went off three times while we were. It was very, very loud.
This is our fifth year in a row staying there and I'm sure we will do it again. However, the multiple alarms was concerning.
The main thing we love is being right on the beach, hearing the waves, watching the birds and seeing the sunsets.
